The Norwegian Refugee Council's privacy statement

We process personal data in line with the EU's personal data protection regulation ( GDPR ). We store information about how you use our services when it is necessary for us to be able to provide you with the best possible service, such as when you place orders, we send you a delivery and in other possible contact with you.

We also use this information to generate statistics and understand trends, as well as to improve, offer and further develop our products and services. As registered in our systems, you have the right to access your personal information and demand, within the limits of the law, that this information is rectified or deleted if it is incomplete or incorrect.

1. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The Norwegian Refugee Council is responsible for the collection and use of personal data, and processes personal data in line with the Personal Data Act. By processing responsibility, we mean the person who primarily has responsibility and obligations under the Personal Data Act. The Norwegian Refugee Council is responsible for processing the personal data.

2. WHAT DOES REFUGEE HELP USE THE PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR?

The Norwegian Refugee Council collects personal data, with your consent, when you give us financial support, buy products in the online store, sign up for newsletters, when we follow up and have dialogue with our users and supporters and when we send out marketing products and other information about the Norwegian Refugee Council. Your email address and/or telephone number is collected so that we can send you confirmation that your contribution has been received - and to inform you about the work we do for the money we raise.

If you are or have been a regular donor or are a current subscriber to our newsletter, we will carry out profiling and segmentation to provide you with targeted content based on your interests. The Norwegian Refugee Council processes your personal information for marketing purposes in accordance with applicable laws, including laws on obtaining consent for electronic marketing.

If you have been a donor, we will, based on legitimate interests and in accordance with GDPR and the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act, store your contact information for a period of 3 years. We can use this data to keep you up to date on the Norwegian Refugee Council's work and opportunities for further support. If you wish to opt out of future contact, please contact us to let us know. 3. PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

You will be notified before we collect information about you, and you can choose what kind of information we can keep and for what purposes. Personal information may be your name, address, telephone number, email address, age, donor information and payment details.

If you support us with an amount over NOK 500, by informing us of your social security number, you can get a tax deduction on the donor amount. The Norwegian Refugee Council is required by law to obtain personal identification numbers for tax deductions and uses personal identification numbers to ensure that supporters and donors receive tax deductions for their donations. 4. REGISTRATION, CHANGE OF INFORMATION, DE-REGISTRATION ETC.

Personal information is collected when registering as a permanent donor, when donating a single amount to the Norwegian Refugee Council or when signing up for a newsletter. This can take place via our websites, SMS, Vipps, with the help of our street recruitment team or via postal giro.

You have the right to receive information about the collection, use, processing and protection of your personal information. 5. SECURITY

The Norwegian Refugee Council has implemented a number of security measures to ensure that our internal routines comply with the security standards required by current data protection legislation. The Norwegian Refugee Council considers the information about our work and the refugee situation in general on its own websites to be reliable, but nevertheless cannot guarantee that the information is correct, complete or available at all times. The Norwegian Refugee Council thus disclaims all responsibility for errors, deficiencies and lack of availability on the pages.
